Chase High principal Kevin Bradley, the Rutherford County Schools principal of the year, has been recognized as Region 8 Principal of the Year.
The Wells Fargo Principal of the Year announcement was made Friday by the Rutherford County Schools. The recognition program is especially timely and poignant given the remarkable circumstances facing the state's school administrators as they strive to serve and support their students, colleagues, and communities during an ongoing public health crisis that has shaken our shared landscape.
While the work of principals is never easy, it has been made especially challenging by the added complexities and considerations facing them as they organize instruction and school operations against the backdrop of COVID-19 and a dizzying constellation of enhanced school health and safety considerations, said a school spokesperson.
Back in September the Rutherford County Board of Education recognized and celebrated Kevin Bradley's selection as Rutherford County Schools' principal of the year.
Bradley exemplifies the qualities expected from those remarkable leaders who rise to the occasion in dedicated service to their students, colleagues, and school communities, reports the Board of Eduction and Superintendent Dr. David Sutton.
According to a news release from the schools' administration, Bradley grasps the depth and scope of the challenges facing his school community and works tirelessly to create solutions that are responsive to their needs. He is a careful, thoughtful, and creative problem-solver, consistently focused not just on getting the job done, but on getting the job done well. He authentically engages the people around him and works with their best interests at heart. His commitment to promoting teamwork and engagement encourages a shared sense of optimism that is especially necessary - and powerfully - important during the most challenging times."
Bradley has distinguished himself as an excellent leader by promoting and nurturing a positive culture focused on high expectations and student success, the press release reported. By cultivating a sense of community, an investment in partnership, and a commitment to improvement, he actively promotes a positive school identity that unifies stakeholders and informs their efforts with a sense of purpose, passion, and value. Not surprisingly, Chase High School has distinguished itself as a student-centered learning community where hard work, commitment, school spirit, and student success are valued and celebrated every day. As a leader, Bradley is calm and steady, authentic, committed to integrity and principle, and humble despite many personal and professional successes.
