Larry Burns, age 81, of Rutherfordton

Larry Burns, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, November 1, 2026.

He was the son of the late Odell Burns and the late Dot Frady Burns and a native of Rutherford County. Larry was a member of Spindale Covenant Church of the Brethren and attended Piedmont Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Faye Bailey.

Larry owned and operated Motor Vehicle Brokers in Forest City for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two sons Tim Burns and wife Jennifer, Tyler Burns and wife Nicole, and his long time companion Mary Trevitz, two brothers Jim Burns and Eddie Burns, six grandchildren and a special family member Drake Trevitz.

The Memorial service will be at Piedmont Baptist Church at 1PM, Friday, November 6 with Rev. Sydney Calhoun and his sons officiating. Military Honors will be presented on the church lawn following the service by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. At the conclusion of the military honors the family will greet friends in the church.
