Larry Vann Crocker, 76, passed away February 21, 2025.
Born May 24, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, NC then migrated to the mountains.
From the time he could walk and talk, Larry had a deep love for animals. This love led him to leave home at 14 to work at an old widow's dairy farm, confirming his passion for farming, which became a lifelong pursuit.
Larry was a true rodeo cowboy. From bull riding to clowning, Larry loved rodeo and the community that came with it.
Over the course of his life he mentored countless youths, shaping their character with his priceless wisdom, hard truths, given always in love and never with judgment.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathleen Marshall Crocker, the love of his life and wife of 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Vann Crocker Jr. and brothers, Wayne Paul Crocker and Gary Wade Crocker.
He is survived by his daughter, Boycie Adele Fullerton and husband Alex, grandchildren, Paxton Vann-Wayne Edney and wife, Bryson Nix and Boycie Haden Stepp and husband Rodney and great grandchildren, Michael Ridge Stepp and Boyce Vann Stepp.
A celebration of life was held March 1 on his farm, Vandele Farms.
