Lavonda Sailors Pleasant, age 80

Lavonda Sailors Pleasant, age 80, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025.

Lavonda was born June 4, 1944 in Cleveland County to the late Ernest "Shorty" Sailors and Annie Mae Hollifield Sailors. She worked in textiles for many years and retired from the Haynes Plant. Lavonda enjoyed going to the Rutherford County Senior Center and participating in the activities. Lavonda was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Pleasant; brothers, Jay, Jim and Lawrence Sailors; sisters, Burene Arrowood, Marilyn Hubbard, Patsy Hollifield, Evelyn Goode and Annie Mae Faircloth.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 55 years, Roger Pleasant; son, Kevin Pleasant (Jennifer Carver) of Forest City; granddaughter, Amberlyn Austin; sisters, Rosemary Barkley and Kathy McCloskey.

A memorial service was held March 15 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Irvin officiating.
