Lawrence "Wayne" Strader, age 68

Lawrence "Wayne" Strader, age 68, passed away January 1, 2022.

Wayne was born February 26, 1953 in Danville, VA to the late Stephen Franklin Strader and Viola Edwards Strader. He was a heavy equipment mechanic, a truck driver for Cone Mills and worked for Goodyear Tire. Wayne was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Martha Haynes and Mary Hunnicutt; grandson, Tyler Strader and a sister-in-law, Patsy Strader.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of 33 years, Ruby Dills Biggerstaff Strader; son Larry Wayne Strader (Sharon) of Virginia; daughter, Susan Ann Strader of Ringgold, Virginia; two grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Wanda Ann Sanders (Sandy) of Caroleen and Anita Lynn Stofer (Sammy) of Shingle Hollow; stepson, Billy Gerald Biggerstaff (Melissa) of Cliffside; four step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Gaynell Murray of Mooresboro; brothers, Oscar Strader (Patsy) of Ringgold, VA, Michael Strader (Ann) of Roanoke, VA and a brother-in-law, Marvin Hunnicutt of Ringgold, VA.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on a date to be announced.
