Leonard Lee McEntire, age 84, of Rutherfordton

Leonard Lee McEntire, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Born and raised in Rutherford County, Leonard was the son of the late Lee McEntire and the late Rosa Lee Hardin McEntire. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Raymond McEntire, Jesse McEntire, Reuben McEntire, Ronelle Tuttle, and Annie Arrowood.

Leonard enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, watching westerns, and fishing. He was an accomplished trap shooter.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patsy McEntire, their children, Randy McEntire and wife Susan, Susan Byers and husband Terry, Bruce McEntire and wife Angie, and Gary McEntire and wife Lori, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The graveside service was held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park April 2 with Rev. Chris Glawson officiating.

McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
