Lillian Esther Toro, 72, of Forest City

Lillian Esther Toro, 72, of Forest City, NC, opened her eyes in heaven May 23, 2026.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Toro and survived by her children, Edwin Toro Jr., Jessica Iris Fonfrias, and Raymond Fonfrias; her grandchildren, Katlyn Clements Toro, Krista Fonfrias, Edwin Toro ("Nene"), Edwin Toro ("Papo"), Raymond Fonfrias ("Ray Ray"), Bryanna Toro, Annya Toro, and Victoria Toro; her great grandchildren, Johnelly Toro and Raymond Fonfrias Jr., her siblings Angel Lopez, Dolores Segura, Lydia Lopez and Gilbert Lopez, and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was born in New York where she met and married her husband of 52 years. They later moved to Miami and lived there for many years finally finding a home in Spindale and Forest City. There she found her new home in Spencer Baptist Church. Her faith and her church were central to her life. Devoting her time in different ways from cooking for the church and the soup kitchen to sewing classes and her dedication to the youth of the church.

Lillian Toro's arrangements are as follows: Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Spencer Baptist Church; 187 N Oak St., Spindale. Receiving of Friends: 2-PM, Service: 3PM.

In lieu of flowers, Lillian Toro's wishes were that any memorials or donations be made to the children and youth ministry of Spencer Baptist Church, 187 N. Oak St., Spindale, NC 28160.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family of Lillian Toro.
