Lillian "Irene" Waters, age 82

Lillian "Irene" Waters, age 82, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Irene was born January 10, 1936 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Faye Tesseneer and Addie Alberta Horn Tesseneer. She was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. Irene was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Bobby Lewis Waters; daughter, Chris Poteet and a granddaughter; two sisters, Maude Allison and Doris Champion.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Diane Nix and husband, Harold of Forest City and Tammy Walker and husband, Brian also of Forest City; brother, John Tesseneer and wife, Kim of Grover, NC and sister Laura Biggerstaff of Forest City. She is also survived by four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at Gray's Creek Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
