Lois J. Elmore, age 99, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Lois was born March 18, 1925 in Rutherford County, to the late Archie Bynum Jackson and Nola Ree White Jackson. She was a graduate of Cliffside High School, class of 1941. Lois worked for several years at Smith's Drug, she worked for 23 years at Sears and Walmart for 16 years. She was of the Baptist faith and accepted the Lord and was baptized at Cliffside Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Henry H. Elmore; two brothers, Glenn Jackson and Samuel Jackson; and a nephew, Glenn Forest Jackson Elmore, Jr.
Survivors are her two sons, Rev. Dr. Michael Hiram Elmore (Peggy), of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jerry Francis Elmore (Kathy), of Cliffside; five grandchildren, Michele Elmore Travers (Warren), Dr. Jonathan Elmore (Ruth), Rev. Tim Elmore (Michele), Megan Elmore, and Nic Elmore; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2pm February 1 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with her grandson, Rev. Tim Elmore officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
