Lorene McMurry O'Dell, age 76

Lorene McMurry O'Dell, age 76, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Lorene was born July 17, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Julius McMurry and Estelle Watson McMurry. She was a graduate of R-S Central High School. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison O'Dell; brother, Glenn McMurry and a sister, Barbara McMurry Champion.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald O'Dell; sons, Bruce O'Dell (Sharon) of Mooresboro, Wayne O'Dell of Ellenboro, Larry O'Dell (Teresa) of Mooresboro and Brian O'Dell (Kristy) of Mooresboro; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence McMurry Tesseneer of Forest City and Lillie McMurry Smith of Ellenboro.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2pm on Thursday, October 26 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Camp and Mr. Brian O'Dell officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
