Louene "Lou" Lane, age 86

Louene "Lou" Lane, age 86, of Union Mills, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022.

Lou was born March 28, 1936, in Rutherford County to the late Lewis Thomas and Meldora Mills Thomas. She worked many years at Cone Mills before retirement. Lou was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth E. Thomas, George W. Thomas, William Vance Thomas and Clayton Thomas.

Left to cherish fond memories are sons Grayling J. Lane (Anna) and Randy Lee Lane (Sharon) all of Union Mills; brother Charles Thomas of Forest City; sisters Linda Bailey (Bobby) of Forest City, Martha Thomas Philbeck of Shelby, Mildred Campbell of New Bern, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held September 8 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony McCraw officiating.
