Margaret Bridges, 'Peggy', age 79, of Rutherfordton

Margaret Bridges, affectionately known as Peggy, age 79, born in Hampton, VA, and a longtime resident of Rutherfordton, NC, entered her heavenly home Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Billy F. Bridges.

Peggy had many hidden talents and was a very artistic and creative person. She was gifted with beautiful penmanship and taught herself calligraphy. In her early years at Buckroe Beach, she used this talent to write scriptures on seashells and driftwood, which she sold at local craft shows.

Peggy earned a Master's degree in Education and later received a Doctorate in Counseling.

A private graveside service will be held by the family. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Hampton, VA.
