Margaret Yelton, age 94

Margaret Yelton, age 94, of Belmont, formerly of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Born March 31, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Buster McSwain and Mamie Moore McSwain. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and worked for Burlington Industries for many years and retired from Roses Department Store. Margaret was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. She also enjoyed ceramics, various craftwork and painting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Reverend James L. Yelton; two sisters, Inez Grant and Mildred Forbes; two brothers, George McSwain, Tommy McSwain and a granddaughter. Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Geovinna Siebert and husband, Klaus of Belmont and Sandra Harwood and husband, Linwood of Boiling Springs, SC. Several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed the service in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
