Mark James Elliott, age 68, of Forest City

Mark James Elliott, age 68, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who was lovingly known as, "Slick." His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible "Mark" on all who knew him.

Born September 15, 1957, Mark was a son of the late Richard and Gladynell Watkins Elliott.

Mark was strongly dedicated to Rutherford County Schools, with a career lasting over 33 years in the maintenance department, retiring as the Supervisor of Custodial Services. Rooted in his faith, Mark reflected Christ's love through kindness and generosity.

For 35 years, Mark shared his life with his wife, Donna Bright Elliott. Their union brought forth Mark's greatest blessings, his children, Maggie Elliott Crowe and husband, Stephen, of Forest City, and Bo Elliott and wife, Andrea, of Morganton. Mark was thrilled with the arrival of his grandchildren, Scarlett Bo Crowe, Sullivan Crowe, Valerie Elliott, and Stryder Crowe. He is also survived by his siblings, Rick Elliott, Kay Elliott Hollifield, and Becky Elliott.

The memorial service will be private for the family. The family would like to extend an invitation to receive friends from 2-4PM Sunday, July 19 in the Adaville Baptist Church Gymnasium.
