Mark James "Jay" Murray, Jr., age 30 of Forest City died Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Jay was born February 5, 1993, and was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He worked in construction and was a member of Florence Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Lee Collins Murray of Forest City, his son, Hunter James Murray and his daughter, Allie Nicole Murray, his sister, Samantha Marks and husband Lucas of Rutherfordton, one nephew, aunts and uncles, Geni and Dave Greenley, Jimmy and Lindsey Collins as well as many cousins.

The funeral was held September 22 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Greg Huntley officiating.
