Martha Jean McFarland White, age 84 of Bostic died Friday, May 2, 2025.
Martha Jean was born April 16, 1941, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Kirby Allison McFarland and Annie Lois Padgett McFarland.
Martha Jean was a 1959 graduate of Ellenboro High School and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She worked for Rutherford County Department of Social Services where she retired with 38 years of service.
On December 1, 1973, she married Lawrence White.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother, Kenneth McFarland and sister-in-law, Mary Gwendolyn Gettys.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence "Bo" White, her sister-in law, Peggy McFarland of Forest City, brother and sister-in law, Gary and Vickie White of New Bern, as well as her nephew and niece.
The memorial service was held May 6 at Padgett and King Chapel officiated by Rev. Kathy Earley and a eulogy given by Mr. Clyde Lovelace.
