    The Town of Rutherfordton’s 225th Anniversary and the 2012 Mayfest celebrate our cultural Heritage with the  Rutherfordton Quilt Guild’s show. The quilt show is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Fellowship Hall of  Rutherfordton lst Baptist Church. ( It  is located diagonally across from the Rutherford County Courthouse on N. Main Street.)
    The Rutherford Quilt Guild, formed in 2009 with about 25 members, has more than 50 members. The Guild meets on the second Monday of each month from 7pm to 9pm at First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, and gladly accepts new members. Guests are welcome too.  
    The Rutherford Quilt Guild Inc. held its first quilt show the at Isothermal Community College in April of 2011 . The culmination of nine months of work resulted in 168 quilts made exclusively by the members of the Guild. Martha McGinnis, chairperson of the 225th Anniversary Quilt Show Event on behalf of Rutherfordton 225th Anniversary Committee, was winner of Best of Show with her quilt entitled “Petal Power”. The Guild also is actively involved in numerous community benefit projects.
