Merlin Hines, age 87

Merlin Hines, age 87, of Henrietta passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Merlin was born in Rutherford County on November 10, 1933 and was the son of Allison and Reola Hines.

In addition to his parents, Merlin was preceded in death by his wife of over forty years Margaret Estep Hines, stepson Mike Estep, a granddaughter, daughter-in-law Adrian Hines, brothers Gene Hines and Jack Hines, sister-in-law Irene Hines, brothers-in-law Perry Estep and Dan Mays.

Surviving are son Terry Hines (Kathy) of Cliffside; daughter Cindy Houser of Cliffside; son Kenny Hines (Sherri) of Cliffside; stepson Phillip Walker (Diane) of Bostic, daughter-in-law Judy Estep of Harris; 14 grandchildren. Merlin is also survived by brothers Marlin Hines, Miles Hines (Nancy), and Randy Hines (Susan), sisters Ebba Mays, Carolyn Kinney (Albert), Darlene Caldwell (Tommy), and sister-in-law Betty Ray. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.

A private family service was held.
