Michael Allen Edwards, age 72

Michael Allen Edwards, age 72 of Forest City died Friday, May 20, 2022.

Mike as he was known was born September 7, 1949, in McDowell County and was a son of the late Skelt and Cloa Moody Edwards.

Mike was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a supervisor for National Textiles. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Holcomb.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Champion Edwards of the home, sister, Linda Casper and husband Jack of Tennessee, brother-in-law, Burgin Champion and wife Darlene of Forest City, sister-in-law, Vivian Toney Champion of Bostic and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held May 25 at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Qualls and Rev. Stephen Matheny officiating. Interment and Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard followed.
