Michael Gregory (Mike) Harrill, age 68 of Forest City

Michael Gregory (Mike) Harrill, age 68 of Forest City died Friday, January 30, 2026. Mike, as he was known, was born March 7, 1957, in Rutherford County to the late Herman Lee Harrill, Sr., and Blanche Elizabeth Allen Harrill.

Mike grew up in Forest City and was a graduate of East Rutherford High School. He was a locomotive engineer for CSX Transportation where he worked until retirement with 35 years service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Ann Harrill.

Survivors include his daughter and step-daughter, Allie Harrill of Forest City and Jessica Robbins of Bostic, his brother, Lee Harrill and wife Mary of Rutherfordton, his sister, Bobbie Harrill Walker and husband Mike of Forest City, and his twin brother, Mitch Harrill and wife Julie of Bostic, six grandchildren, Keiston, Draiden, Traisen, Emi, Max and Chase.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm Thursday, February 5 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Pat Jobe officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:45 prior to the service at Padgett and King.
