Mr. Ernest William Metcalf age 79

Mr. Ernest William Metcalf age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday February 28, 2013. 

Ernest was born in Rutherford County NC on July 4, 1933 and was a son of the late William Roscoe Metcalf and Mary Sue Sisk Metcalf. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by nine siblings – Glen, Gary, Frank, Richard, Blanche, James, Joyce, Earl and J.Y.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Emily Hooper Metcalf, children – Sam Metcalf, Bill Metcalf, Kimberly Metcalf, David Metcalf, Grant Metcalf, stepchildren – Frankie McMahan, Ethel Vance and Charles Williams; one brother Jack Metcalf, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, as well as a number of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Mr. Metcalf was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and will be provided military honors by The Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
