Mr. Jimmy Broadus Harris, 78, of Forest City

Mr. Jimmy Broadus Harris, 78, of Forest City, NC, entered into eternal rest with the Lord Jesus Christ December 19, 2025.

Jimmy was born January 9, 1947, in Gaffney, SC, to the late Broadus and Polly Harris. He graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1965 and Cecil's Business College in 1967. He married Laura Lee Waters on September 4, 1966.

Jimmy began his career with Duke Power Company in 1967. He was drafted into the United States Army and served our country from 1968 to 1970, stationed at Fort Hood, TX. He returned from military service and had a distinguished career at Duke Power Company from 1970 to 2001.

Surviving are his two sons, Scott Harris of Forest City, and Chris Harris, along with his wife, Mellony, of Crozet, VA., two grandchildren, Christopher Luke Harris, an officer in the United States Navy, currently stationed in Charleston, SC, serving at the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command, and Ashlee Bryn Harris, who will graduate from nursing school at the University of Virginia in May.

A memorial service was held December 27 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
