Mrs. Ellen Mae Hensley Dotson age 92

Mrs. Ellen Mae Hensley Dotson age 92 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 24, 2013. 

She was retired from Stonecutter Mills, an active member of Spencer Baptist Church for 73 years and was also a lifetime member of the VFW. 

Ellen was born April 19, 1920 in Madison County NC to the late Matthew Manassey Hensley and Roxie Ann McDevitt Hensley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Grover Cleveland Dotson, their children Grover Lee Dotson and Shirley Dotson Springs, her siblings Dusky Bradshaw, Carrie Wheeler, Pearl Sellers, Faye Fox, Mary Monday, Martha Hensley, Matthew Hensley and William McKinley “Mac” Hensley.

Left to cherish her memories are granddaughter Shannon D. Campbell and husband Melvin, granddaughter Laura D. Hollar and husband Steven, great grandchildren Mary Feathers, Samuel Feathers, Sydney Hollar and Bethany Hollar, daughter-in-law Malinda Murphy as well as a number of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Vaughn and Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Mrs. Dotson was laid to rest in Spindale City Cemetery.
