Mrs. Mattie Ruth Epley Cook age 101

Mrs. Mattie Ruth Epley Cook age 101 went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2013.

A native of Rutherford County she was a former textile employee and a member of Crestview Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Elizabeth McMurry Watson, her first husband Ransome H. Epley, her second husband Rev. W.A.  Cook, four sons – Kermit, Frances Lee, Bobby and Wayne Epley. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children – Donald Epley and wife Barbara of Smithfield, VA, R.H. “Firpo” Epley and wife Chris, Jean Gibbs and husband Donald and Peggy (Mickey) Green, and daughter in law Mary Epley. Fourteen grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at Crestview Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Rohm and Rev. Doug Carpenter officiating. Concluding services were held at Robertson Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Crestview Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Rutherford County.
