Mrs. Opal Jean Brooks Jolley, 89, of Ellenboro, a resident of Fair Haven Home, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

    Funeral services were held at Corinth Baptist Church.

    A native of Rutherford County, she was born on December 12, 1922, a daughter of the late Oran G. and Ethel Melton Brooks. She was retired from Deb’s Manufacturing after 25 years of service. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher, choir member and WMU member.

     In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wilburn “Wid” Shirley Jolley; one son, Charles Douglas Jolley; four brothers, Lawrence Brooks, M.G. Brooks, Guy Brooks, and Roy Brooks; one granddaughter, Donna Annette Jolley.

    She is survived by two sons, Dale Jolley of Forest City and Don Jolley of Cliffside; two daughters, Elaine Jolley Moore of Ellenboro and Shirley Jolley Medford of Ellenboro; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

      Memorials may be made to Corinth Baptist Church Mission Fund, 767 Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 or Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

    McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral Home is serving the Jolley family.
