MSgt. Haydon H. Stacey, USAF, Retired, age 83

MSgt. Haydon H. Stacey, USAF, Retired, age 83 of Rutherfordton, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

Haydon was born June 11, 1937 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Wallace Dean Stacey and Ollie Mae Rowe Stacey. He served for twenty-two years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Haydon was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joy Bailey Stacey who passed in 2017 and his brother, Dean Rondo Stacey.

Survivors include his son, Darrell H. Stacey of Rutherfordton, daughter, Marcia S. Metcalf and husband Alan of Forest City, brother, Dale Stacey of Forest City, sisters, Jo Ann Johnson, Joyce Taylor, and Shirley McClellan all of Rutherfordton, Brenda Lane and husband James of Forest City. There are also five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at New Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
