Nancy Susan Downey Suggs, of Spindale

Nancy Susan Downey Suggs, of Spindale passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, just days before her 76 birthday.

Susie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born November 16, 1949, in Forest City to the late Herbert and Lois Newton Downey.

A graduate of East Rutherford High School, Class of 1968, she remained a lifelong resident of her beloved community.

Nancy is remembered by her husband of 34 years, David Suggs, her son, Mitchell Suggs (Whitney Munsey) and her three grandchildren, Malachi Suggs, Breyden Suggs, and Kendall Gordon, three sisters, Linda Walker, Lois Ann Hasty (Terry), and Teresa Scruggs, as well as nephews Brian Hasty, Christopher Scruggs, Chase Scruggs, and Tim Walker, her nieces, Amanda Hasty and Jennifer Ball, five great-nieces and four great-nephews.

The family will gather privately to say their goodbyes.
