Nell Reid Scruggs, age 96

Nell Reid Scruggs, age 96 of Forest City died Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

Nell was born April 1, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Lee Reid and Zennie Toney Reid. She lived all her life in the home she was born in and where she raised her own family. She was a member of Tanners Grove Church and a graduate of Harris High School.

Nell was a homemaker and farmer.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Scruggs who died in 2003 and infant granddaughter, Jamie Leigh Owens in 1982.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky Scruggs Leach and husband Roy of Forest City, two grandchildren, five grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A service from the graveside was held December 11 at Tanners Grove Community Church Cemetery with Rev. Eric Yelton officiating.
