Nellie Blanton Kimbrell, age 69, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away  Thursday, October 25, 2012.

Nellie was born July 14, 1943 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Carl Blanton and Docia Patterson Blanton.  She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School, class of 1960 and worked in textiles most of her life, having worked for Fieldcrest and J.C. Cowan.  She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  She loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, C.G., Bill, Jack, Don and Lewis Blanton and one sister, Lib Brewer.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Kenneth “Babe” Kimbrell; two sons, Gary Kimbrell and wife, Renee of Ellenboro and Duane Kimbrell and wife, Debbie of Forest City; one daughter, Teresa Dick and husband, James of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Bob Blanton and wife Blanche, Finley Blanton and wife, Grace and Sam Blanton and wife, Liz all of Ellenboro; one sister, Janie Harris and husband, Earl of Mooresboro.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kristen Greene, Kimberly Conard, Christopher Kimbrell, Stephanie Kimbrell, Trina Conard, Jonathan Kimbrell, Brittney Dalton, Natasha Kimbrell; five great grandchildren, Jalique Cash, Elijah Cash, Mason Conard, Jaxson Greene, Braylon Conard and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were conducted at Corinth Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. David Jendry officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery. 

Harrelson Funeral Home is caring for the family of Mrs. Kimbrell.
