Our Neighbor Celebrates 100 Years!

Men from the Cowpens National Battlefield fired off salutes as they marched down the parade route.
   This past Saturday, September 17, beginning at 10 a.m. the marching and flag bearing Chesnee High School ROTC began the celebration. The parade was followed by an enormous amount of party activity all day. It ended when a fireworks show lit up the evening sky. It was all about our neighbor, Chesnee, celebrating its’ 100th birthday! What a day! What a show! A stupendous show of local pride.
     The friendly town, adjacent to Rutherford County, named after a Scottish grandmother and encompassing an area of just .9 square mile, pulled out all the stops and invited anyone and everyone to come help them celebrate. A grand celebration it was!
