Patricia "Patty" Bishop Ashley, 71, of Rutherfordton

Patricia "Patty" Bishop Ashley, 71, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away August 22, 2026.

She was a resident of Hendersonville before retiring to Rutherfordton. She was a graduate of East Henderson High School.

Born March 28, 1955, in Hendersonville, Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Hannon and Blanche Bishop; her daughter, Kristina Sturdivant; her brothers, J.A. Bishop and Michael Bishop; and her grandson, Kooper Sturdivant.

Patty leaves behind her husband, Jeff Ashley; her daughters, Brooke Collins and Jennifer Dorsey; her granddaughters, Kierra, Kendall (Chance), and Paisley; and her great-granddaughters, Kadience and Kennedy, her sister, Janet Stepp (Mike); her brothers, David Bishop (Joann) and Chris Bishop (Myra); as well as many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

A family directed service to celebrate Patty's life will be held Saturday, September 5, at 3:30pm at Kistler's Chapel Methodist Church, Rutherfordton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Patty's honor to Kistler's Chapel Methodist Church, 3060 Poors Ford Rd., Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
