Pauline Deal Gammon, age 93

Pauline Deal Gammon, age 93 of Forest City died Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Polly, as she was known was born December 27, 1928, in Bryson City, NC and was a daughter of the late John and Mary Evelyn Scroggs Deal.

Polly was a graduate of Berea College. It was at Berea that she met her future husband, Robert Gammon. Polly had served as Librarian at the former Dunbar School until she decided to become a fulltime homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church Forest City.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Wilson Gammon, sons Robert Gordon Gammon and Carl Wilson Gammon, brothers Roe Deal, Gray Deal, and sisters Pansy Deal, Edith Johnson, and Lillie Emory.

Survivors include son, John William Gammon and wife Haley of Forest City, and five grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life was held July 30 in The Padgett and King Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Diane Nelson officiating.
