Peggy Jean Hardin, age 65, of Bostic

Peggy Jean Hardin, age 65, of Bostic, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025.

Peggy was born March 24, 1960 in Cleveland County to the late Beatrice Hudson Bumgardner. She worked many years at Cone Mills-Florence Plant, and later at Joyful Homes Family Care. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Shawn Owen; grandson, Alex Lewellen; her grandparents, Sherman and Purvie Hudson; and two brothers, Danny Roland, and Dewayne Roland.

Survivors include her son, John Lewis Owens III (Judy), of Rutherfordton; daughter, Brandie Reid (Matthew) of Henderson, NV; sister, Cindy Munn, of Bostic; grandchildren, Dylan Owens (Haley), Brett Lewellen (Courtney), Hunter Owens (Maya), Hannah Owens, Madison Owens, Triston Owens (Tia Ferrari-Owens), Jackson Morgan, Soren Reid, and Emeric Reid; great-grandchildren, Nylah Owens, Leilani Owens and Everly Owens; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral was held July 11 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Jackson officiating.
