Rachel "Crissy" Mathis, age 55, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, October 9, 2026.
A native of Rutherford County, Crissy was the daughter of the late Hershel and Patricia Wall Slaughter. Crissy was a member of Gray's Chapel Church in Rutherfordton.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Mathis, and her son, Caleb A Mathis (Kensey), one granddaughter, Lillian Rae Mathis, and two sisters, Lillian Slaughter, and Ginger Ledbetter and a number of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service was held at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel on October 18 with Rev. Joe Boles and Robby Snyder officiating.
McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
