Raleigh Godfrey, age 86

Raleigh Godfrey, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023.

Raleigh was born February 2, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Jack Godfrey and Bertha Adair Godfrey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Raleigh worked at Cone Mills for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Betty Godfrey.

Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Sharp of Forest City and Teresa Pruitt (Cleve) of Ellenboro; brothers, Roy Lee Godfrey (Joyce) of Chesnee and Bobby Godfrey (Florence) of Hickory, four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

In honor of Raleigh's wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
