Ransome Leon McEntire, age 88

Ransome Leon McEntire, age 88 passed away on October 22, 2022.

Ransome was a veteran of the US Army. A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of the late Elzie and Verdie Mae Arrowood McEntire. He farmed, worked at Fieldcrest Mills and retired from Spartan Mills.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Kenneth Wray McEntire, Charles Dean McEntire, and sister Florence McEntire Vickers.

Left to cherish many fond memories are wife Katherine, children Linda (John) Barnett and Ricky (Susan) McEntire, three grandchildren, siblings Mack (Linda) and Dennis McEntire (Christine), and Betty McEntire McDaniel and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held October 26 at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Revs. Casey Stockton, Rick Wall, and Michael Brown officiating. Military Honors were provided by Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard and Taps was performed by Ransome's great nephew, Jonathan McEntire.
