Listen To Life
Listen To Life

Do you appreciate the people around you?

My wife injured her left shoulder some years ago and it was really painful, so painful that she couldn’t do the normal things she does every day.

“Don’t worry, honey,” I told her, “I’ll take care of your stuff and mine.”

Little did I know what I was in for.

You see, she runs the horse farm we live on which means that she’s constantly caring for the horses.  And she cooks most all of our meals.  And she takes care of our daughter’s needs like helping fix hair and choosing which outfits to wear.  Then there’s the grocery shopping, the housecleaning, and…well, you get the picture.

So here I was trying to take of my stuff and her stuff.  I knew I was in over my head after the first day.

Well, she got better quickly and thank God was able to do most of her stuff.  And me?  I got better, too, and with a much greater appreciation for what she does to make my life so wonderful.

Do you appreciate what the people around you do?  Discover what they do and then thank them for doing it—today—as you make a positive life.

Just because your boat is in the water, doesn’t mean that all you have to do is drop a line in order to catch fish. The same goes for the woods. It doesn’t matter what game you are after, just surrounding yourself with trees will not guarantee any success. And then there are the signs that give proof that fish or game have been there before. This is especially evident in hunting. Game trails run throughout the woods.

Two Playoff Teams Still Alive; Huge Racing Weekend
Two Playoff Teams Still Alive; Huge Racing Weekend

When the brackets came out last week Rutherford County made history, all eight diamond (4 softball/4 baseball) high schools teams had made the postseason. Upon further review, Thomas Jefferson baseball lost the spot out to Bessemer City. So only seven made the postseason.

Currently, there are two teams left in the postseason and if both win two more games in a row, they head to the Western Regional Final.
