South Mountain Christian Camp Receives a Gift of Faith
South Mountain Christian Camp Receives a Gift of Faith
When our entire high ropes course was destroyed by lightning last summer, I received something special from God—a gift of faith. I didn’t receive that faith because I was so spiritual or even worthy. I believe it was simply because God knew what He wanted to accomplish, and He knew that I needed that faith in order to fall into obedience to His plan. As a result, I had complete confidence that God would provide the $47,000 needed to rebuild the course. I just didn’t know how He would do it.

Listen To Life
Listen To Life

Got fears?

As my dad talks about in his book, Listen to Life with Your Pet, we are a family that adores animals. I was so excited that when I moved to Atlanta my dog, Raggs, could finally live with me.  But the day that my parents were bringing him to Atlanta, I was nervous.  What if he didn’t like living in the city?  Or worse, what if he didn’t like living with just me?

However, when my parents pulled up, my fears were immediately erased when Raggs leapt from my mother’s arms and galloped to my open embrace.  He loves our apartment with its nearby park and he hasn’t ever shown signs of missing my parents’ home.  Best of all, I get that same greeting every day when I come home, complete with doggie hugs and kisses!

Sometimes our fears are pretty silly, huh?  Today, listen to your life and realize that whatever irrational fears you’re carrying around can be solved by simply opening your arms and making yourself available to tackle the issue. Who knows?  You might just get a hug along the way as you live positive today.

Great Racing, But It Was Weird At Martinsville
Great Racing, But It Was Weird At Martinsville

Sunday started weird at Martinsville and 500 laps later, I wondered if there was full moon somewhere in the distance. Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, nor Jimmie Johnson would go to victory lane, but instead it would be Kurt Busch!!!

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
It was good to see some pictures from the youth turkey hunts in our area. This is really a good way to introduce the next generation to one of my favorite things to hunt. And I can’t wait to get in the woods next weekend as well. This means for the next 6 weeks or so, bagging another gobbler will not be far from my thoughts. I love standing on the top of a hill just before dawn and using my owl call to locate those toms. There’s nothing like that sound as it echoes through the fog.
