Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
One of the conditions that hunters have to face this time of year is the fog. Sometimes it lingers seemingly all day making it difficult to see especially when hunting with firearms. And then there’s the drive. Just seeing each turn can sometimes be almost impossible without some type of marker. This is the case at one of my hunting locations.

Listen To Life
Do you forgive and forget?

Our school system was integrated when I was in 5th grade.  Carlton had never had a white friend before me, but we became friends despite the daily bomb threats and riots.  We haven’t seen each other since high school graduation, but recently Carlton and I got back together.  And he told me this story.

Outdoor Truths
Outdoor Truths
The map showed 700 acres in famous Pike County, Illinois. And it was ours to hunt – 4 of us, that is. We had planned on this hunt for months and knew that we would be arriving at the prime time for the rut. The outfitter showed us where some of the best places to put a stand were, but also wanted us to scout the day before we were scheduled to hunt.
