Rev. Lonnie Woodrow “Junior” Evans, age 53, husband of Patricia Millwood Evans of Forest City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday January 10, 2013. 

Junior was a native of Macon County; he was an ordained Holiness minister having served at Open Door Ministries, Little White Country Church, Rutherfordton Holiness Church and New Beginnings; he was also the director for Storehouse Pantry LLC. Junior was a man of many talents, formerly working as a truck driver, logger, a state CDL license examiner for Isothermal Community College and a veteran of the US Army.

Preceding him in death are his first wife Jan Dalyn Duncan Evans; parents Lonnie Woodrow Evans Sr. and his mother Rachel Laura Swafford Evans.

Left to cherish his memory; in addition to his wife Pat; son and daughter in law Harley Jay and Carrie Evans and their daughter Hailey Rose Dalyn Evans of Graniteville, SC; step children Amy Torvinen and children Leaana and John Thomas; Jason Phillips and children Bryson Wayne, Parker Reid and Kinley Dawn; sisters, Pauline Gibson Leach and husband Tom, Marilyn Evans Conner and Husband George of Rutherfordton; Bonnie Evans Chapman and husband Dennis of Flagler Beach, Fl.

Funeral services were held at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Jack Crain, Rev. Doug Carpenter and Rev. Jonathan Randall officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Church. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Storehouse Pantry LLC P.O. Box 661 Rutherfordton, NC 28139.

Crowe’s Mortuary has been entrusted with services for the Evans family.
