Rita Ann Causby, age 55

Rita Ann Causby, age 55, wife of Faye Tatum, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday September 27, 2022.

Rita was a resident of Rutherford County, NC, and the daughter of the late Larry Causby and Patsy Bolick Laughter. Rita was a graduate of R.S. Central High School.

Upon graduation Rita enlisted in the US Navy and was on active duty during Desert Storm. She was also employed by the Motorola Corporation, NC Department of Prisons, and National Park Service.

Rita was a Ranger at the Great Smoky Mountains NP, Glacier NP, Redwoods NP, and Canaveral National Seashore. Rita was also a safety manager with the National Park Service serving in several different parks.

In addition to her wife Faye, Rita leaves behind sisters Betty (Tom) Kesterson and Sherry (Shane) Ferguson; three nieces, numerous great nieces and nephews and brother in laws Ron and Chuck Tatum. She was preceded in death by a nephew Chandler Deviney.

The family received friends October 15 at Crowe's Mortuary. Military honors were provided by Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
