Robert (Bob) L. Wilkins, Jr., 69, born August 24, 1952, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.
After graduating high school in 1970, Bob joined the Georgia National Guard and began his career in Christian radio. He earned a bachelor's degree from Fruitland Bible College.
Bob founded Wilkins Radio Network in 1989, committed to spreading the Gospel through radio, growing to a network of 40 Christian teaching/talk stations.
Bob was predeceased by father, Robert L. Wilkins, mother, Shirley F. Elton, and stepfather, Lester A. Elton. He cherished the memory of his beloved grandparents, Tom and Zennie Wilkins, and Farris and Ada Freeman.
Surviving Bob is wife LuAnn Wilkins, sons, Jared and wife Kathy and two grandsons, Jacob and wife Lauren and 1 granddaughter and 3 grandsons and Britton Wilkins.
Bob is also survived by brothers, Jack Wilkins and wife Connie, Tyger Elton and wife Dana, sisters Cindy Thompson and husband Larry (deceased), Kim Thomas and husband Darrell. Pam Radford and husband Chris (deceased), many nephews, great-nephews, nieces and great-nieces.
Services were held May 17 at Crowe's Mortuary and Chapel.
