Robert Herman Hollifield, Sr, age 76

Robert Herman Hollifield, Sr, age 76 of Forest City died July 14, 2021.

Robert was born February 27, 1945, in McDowell County, NC and was a son of the late Reverend Tull Hollifield and Evelyn Black Hollifield.

He was a graduate of Marion High School and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church. Robert had a great love of gospel music, and he sang with the Christianaires Gospel Group and the Oldtimers Quartet. Robert worked as truck driver for many years and was retired from sales at Wilkins Used Cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Fox.

Survivors include his sons, Robert "Bobby" Hollifield, Jr and wife Julie, of Bostic, Charles "Chuck" Hollifield and wife Sandy, of Forest City, his grandchildren, Savannah and Stephen Griffith, C.J. Hollifield, Christopher McCurry and Amber Radford, 1 great-grandchild, brother, Billy Hollifield and wife Madge, sisters, Midge Templin and husband Harry, and Sybil Palmer and husband Roger.

A memorial service was held July 18, 2021, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Revered George Whitmire officiating.
