Robert Lee "Bob" Chapman, Sr., age 92

Robert Lee "Bob" Chapman, Sr., age 92 of Forest City died Friday, December 1, 2023.

Bob, as he was known to his family and friends, was born November 17, 1931, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late George and Biddie Novella Horn Chapman.

He was a Baptist, attended Tri-High School and worked for Stonecutter Mills Corporation for many years until retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Chapman and sisters, Hazel Flynn, and Lib Teseniar.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marie Johnson Chapman, his son, Robbie Chapman and wife Amy of Forest City, his brother, Jack Chapman of Forest City, his sister, Ann Splawn of Rutherfordton as well as three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and an expectant great-grandchild.

A service from the graveside was held December 5 in the Caroleen-Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery with his grandson, Nathan Chapman officiating.
