Ronald William Parker (Ron) was born in Honea Path, SC May 21, 1938 to Raymond and Mae Brissey Parker. He passed peacefully on July 25, 2025.
He graduated from Honea Path High School and Erskine College. He played on the tennis team at Erskine for four years. He was an active member in the Baptist Student Union.
He coached and taught at both Liberty and T.L. Hanna High Schools. He later acquired his Master's Degree at Clemson University.
For over 20 years, Ron worked with SC Vocational Rehabilitation counseling, supervising and developing programs for young people with disabilities.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, and brother Bob Parker.
Ron is survived by his wife Dorothy Tanner Parker, brother Dr. Marshall Parker, children Rhonda Hite (Tim), Pam Martin (Jay), Matt Harper (Annie), grandchildren Hunter Hite, Parker Hite (Breanna), Dr. Logan Martin, Grace Anne Hopper (Jayson), Jack Martin, Brooklyn Harper, great grandchildren Stetson Hite, Sutton Hite, Eleanor Mae Hite and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton Saturday, August 9 at 2pm. Visitation to follow.
