Rotha Billy Hensley, 81

Rotha Billy Hensley, 81, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018.

He was the son of the late Elizabeth Silvers Hensley of Rutherfordton and the late Hiram Hensley; a veteran of The United States Army, where he also served as a member in the band; retiree of Grindstaff's; member of Oak Springs Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mrs. Martha Love Hensley of Rutherfordton; daughter, Jewel Hensley; two sons, Eric Hensley and Vernon Hensley; brother, J.D. Hensley; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Grady Hensley, Monroe Hensley, Creed Hensley, Shelby Hensley and four sisters Blanche Starnes, Aileen Goins, Marie Briscoe, and Lockie Scruggs.

The funeral service was conducted at Oak Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Alvin Allen officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
