With white clouds in the background and the sign for the Rutherford County Farm Museum, Ken McGinnis, left, and Max Burgin celebrated the news last week that the museum has had its 501c3 status restored with the IRS. Donors can now deduct their gifts from their taxes and local governments and other groups will be able to give to the museum which is running on poor cash flow at the moment. McGinnis, who is the museum curator, and Burgin, who chairs the board of directors, expressed gratitude for help from David McCrary in Rep. Patrick McHenry's office and Forest City Town Manager Dr. Janet Mason for their support of this effort. Also both men thanked local accountant Sam Staten for all his hard work. The museum is at 142 Park Street Extension in Forest City and is open 9-3, Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is $8.00 with children 12 and under free.
