Thanks to support from the RHI Legacy Foundation, the Rutherford County Food Council has been working for the last several months to create a Food Access Guide to share with the community. The Guide lists all of the food pantries and soup kitchens in Rutherford County, provides a Tri-City Express map and transportation options, how to sign up for resources such as WIC and SNAP, and lists other resources like the free food Backpack Program for students, the Farmers Market, and the local NC Cooperative Extension.

Through listening sessions and surveys, we have been talking with residents to understand the greatest needs that exist in our local food system. And the message is clear - residents need to know where and how they can access food resources during tough times. Our generous community has established several food pantries and soup kitchens across the county, but residents have reported having a hard time finding them and getting there. Now, there is the Food Access Guide providing all of that information in one convenient place.

The enhanced digital version with additional features will be available soon by visiting rutherfordncfoodcouncil.org.

To pick up one or more copies in English or Spanish, email hello@rutherfordncfoodcouncil.org.
