Rutherford County Library Passport Acceptance Facility

The County Library on Callahan Koon Road in Spindale is now the only U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility in Rutherford County. Until recently, applicants for U.S. Passports could visit either the County Clerk's Office at the Rutherford County Courthouse or the County Library. When the Clerk's Office determined that they would no longer be an acceptance location, the County Library decided to train two additional staff members on the application acceptance process to accommodate the increase in applicant traffic.

New trainees April Young (Library Director) and Engle Troxler (Outreach Librarian), along with seasoned agents Kenneth Odom (IT Specialist), Stephanie Long (Circulation Manager), Brianna Robertson (Front Desk Associate) and Amber St. Clair (Front Desk Associate), will be the Passport Acceptance Agents in Rutherford County.

Applying for a passport is by appointment only, and anyone wishing to apply for a U.S. Passport may call 828-287-6115 to receive important information about required documentation to bring and set up an appointment.
