Come visit the Winter Market. The Rutherford County Winter Farmers Market is moving to the Main Street Market in Rutherfordton. We are very excited about our new location. We will be setting up our market at 211 N. Main Street in downtown Rutherfordton. The Winter Market will be open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. Hours will be 8 a.m. until noon. We will have cool season crops available for sale, as well as market staples. Winter Market dates are as follows: November 2 & 16, December 7 & 21, January 4 & 18, February 1 & 15, March 7 & 21.

In an effort to expand access to food and broaden market accessibility within our community, we are rolling out our new SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and token program. EBT cards are now welcome at our Farmers Market, making it easy for all families to bring home nutritious, locally grown food. Use your EBT card to buy produce, meat, fish, dairy and bread products, you'll find it all at our Winter Market. If you don't carry cash, you can stop at the Market Manager's table and swipe your credit card to buy tokens that are used the same as cash at the market.

Stop by the Market Manager's table to get SNAP tokens. SNAP customers can redeem their benefits by swiping their EBT card on a point-of-sale terminal at the Market Manager's table in exchange for tokens, which can be used to buy eligible food products from participating vendors. The Farmers Market uses a wooden token system for both cash and SNAP/EBT purchases. The tokens are clearly marked. Cash is represented as a $5 token, for which the vendor may make change. SNAP/EBT is represented as a $1 token, for which the vendor may NOT make change. Vendors will work with SNAP customers for a fair exchange. If you do not use all of your tokens on your current shopping trip, you can bring them with you on the next Market day. Tokens do not expire. Our Farmers Market may not accept Tokens from other area farmers markets.

Come visit us at our new winter location.
